For WALTER we keep only the free-run wine, the wine that runs off by itself. The press never touches the skins, so they reach the grappa still full. Don Pino did it this way, and so do we. The best goes to the wine, the skins to the family grappa.
These skins come from the same twelve grape varieties used to make WALTER. The grapes are picked by hand in the family vineyards.

Dear guest,
My name is Walter Lento. This grappa comes from the same vineyards as the wine that bears my name, and it bears the name of my brother Gianpiero. My brothers and I make our father Pino's wine together.
For the wine we keep only what runs off by itself, the free-run wine, and we never use the press. So the skins stay full of juice, and they go to the grappa. My father Giuseppe, known in the village as Don Pino, did it this way, and so do we.
We make very little of it, and we always pour a glass for those who come to see us.
For us the harvest has always been a celebration. I hope this grappa brings a little of that celebration to your table.
